Thanks for the quick response! Sometimes the steering feels a little off, especially when cornering at higher speeds, but it's not consistent. How did you resolve the issue with your Opel? Was it definitely the control unit?

The workshop confirmed that the affected control unit was indeed defective, and the symptoms you mention only bolster that position. I would advise taking it to a trusted workshop. The lateral acceleration sensor is critical for vehicle stability, and any malfunction can increase the risk of an accident.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to my mechanic, and you were spot on – it was a defective control unit for the lateral acceleration sensor. Cost me about 1000€ to get it replaced, but at least the ABS is working perfectly again. Thanks again!

I had a similar problem with my Opel Astra, although it was a 2018 model. The symptoms were the same: the ABS lamp lights up, failure of the ABS system, and an error stored in the error memory. I think it might be a faulty control unit because lateral acceleration sensors are very sensitive to steering angle and yaw rate. Have you had any issues with the car's handling or unusual vibrations?
