ABS Warning and Brake Light Issues in 2024 Seat Tarraco Diesel: Seeking Advice

Brake light not working

ABS warning light

Hey folks, I'm kinda rattled 'bout my 2024 Seat Tarraco Diesel. It's clocked about 138,200 km and has been acting up lately. I am getting an ABS warning light and my brake light ain't working too. My hunch is it might be a faulty brake light switch, but thought I'd get some insight here first. Had a recent unpleasant ride with a mechanic and a bit cautious now. Has anyone bumped into similar issues and how did your mechanic deal with it? Cheers.

Hey there, Yeah, actually I faced a pretty similar situation a while back with my 2021 Seat Leon Diesel, she's clocked about 120,000 km. I reckon you're pretty spot on with your hunch! I had the exact same warning lights pop up and it turned out, it was indeed a faulty brake light switch causing the mess. My mechanic had to replace it to get those pesky lights to vanish. But heads up, this kind of issue can potentially be serious - brake lights are a safety feature after all! I would suggest having it checked out ASAP. Don't let last bad experience put you off. Just make sure to find a reliable mechanic, and you'll be all set. Hope this helps you out! Take care of that beaut. Cheers.

Hey, Strange coincidence, but I've seen similar issues crop up on my ol' Tarraco. It's scary to see warning lights like that, right? Your story sounds almost identical to the one our friend shared above. It might well be that pesky brake light switch playing tricks again. Getting it replaced seemed to do it for my ride. Since you've had a rough patch with the last mechanic, I reckon it's completely fine to be wary. We've all been there! But definitely get your car to a reliable one soon. It's a safety hazard you wouldn't wanna take lightly. By the way, roughly how much did you pay for the fix? And have you noticed anything else unusual since? Stay safe! Cheers.

Hey again, Talk about a déjà vu moment! Yeah, it was that pesky brake light switch in my Leon causing the kerfuffle too - it needed a replacement to get my lights back in order. But you know what's funnier? Your car might be having its day on me because it cost me absolutely nothing, zilch, nada - 0€ to be exact to get that error fixed, quite a lucky break considering the costly trips to the mechanic we usually dread. So, it's all good news since the fix - no more blinking warning lights and a smooth running car that restores a bit of my faith after that unpleasant mechanic experience. Keep an eye on the ol' Tarraco, but don't fret too much. A good mechanic will sort it out without breaking your bank. Drive safe. Cheers!

Hey, Wow, glad to see such prompt responses. Seems like my hunch wasn't that off the mark after all. Phew! So, the faulty brake light switch seems to be the culprit, eh? I figured out something was wrong with that part but just wasn't sure if it was enough to cause such a ruckus. But hearing about your experiences gives me some relief. That's one lucky break you had. Ending up paying zero for the fix is as good as winning a jackpot. Keeping fingers crossed I don't end up spending much either. All in all, I'll definitely take your suggestions and get my baby checked up ASAP from a reliable bloke. Wouldn't risk it for a biscuit when it comes to safety, right? Expecting to see no more warning signs and a smooth ride after sorting this out. Thanks a ton for sharing your experiences and solutions. Ride safe, fellas! Toodles!
