Hey! Thanks for the heads-up! This is exactly the sort of info I was fishing for. You know, it's nice to hear from someone who's been through something similar. Sounds like a major PITB that you had to deal with. Hope it didn't put a serious dent in your pocket. It might be a long shot, but do you remember how much you ended up paying for the fix? And did you run into any more issues afterwards, or was it all smooth sailing post that? Appreciate your insight! Catch you on the flip side.

Hey there! No worries, happy to help a fellow car enthusiast out! So, regarding the pocket dent, well yeah, it was a hit but not brutal. Trust me, the peace of mind is worth it. I had to shell out a grand, 1000.00 € to be exact, for the ABS control unit mess-up. It was a bit steep, but you don't play around with safety, right? After the hefty fix, it's been smooth cruising. The Wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) was all good since that mechanic's visit, and no problems on the ABS front! Fingers crossed it stays that way. Hope your Kia gives you less stress soon! Catch you later!

Hey again, A grand, whew! That's a bit of a ouch, but you're absolutely right about safety. It takes priority over everything else, so I guess I'm all prepared for that possibility. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really eased my mind knowing there's light at the end of this. Now, I know what I could be dealing with and also what to expect - as opposed to walking in blind like last time. Alright then, let's see what my own Kia drama unfolds to. Wishing you many more problem-free miles on your ride, too! Catch you around!

Hey! Ran across something similar in my '03 Kia Optima. ABS light popped on and got a warning similar to yours. Initially, I also thought it could be the ABS sensor, but after I got it checked out, it was actually the ABS control unit that was defective. The situation seemed pretty serious, as the mechanic said it could potentially screw over the brake system if not addressed right off the bat. They had to replace it and it was a bit of a process. However, it felt better knowing the real issue and understanding the necessity to sort it early. Just wanted you to know, so you're not blindsided like I was. Hope it helps and your ride gets back to normal soon! Cheers.
