Accord EGR Valve Issue

I've got a 2015 Honda Accord diesel, and I'm chasing down a frustrating issue. At 177985 km, I'm experiencing a noticeable reduction in engine power, accompanied by the check engine light. I'm also getting puffs of smoke when accelerating, and the engine sounds rough, especially at idle. Fuel consumption is definitely up, and the car occasionally jerks when accelerating. To top it off, there's a loud hissing sound when I put my foot down. Given the symptoms, I'm leaning towards a defective EGR valve. Anyone else run into something similar?

Sounds familiar. I had a comparable problem in my Accord. All the same symptoms. Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

I haven't specifically checked for vacuum leaks yet, but I will do that. If I don't find any leaks, does that point definitively to the EGR valve? Was that the final culprit in your case?

In my case, yes, it was the EGR valve. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to be sure.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions. The workshop diagnosed a defective EGR valve, and the repair cost came to 355€. Car is running smooth again.
