Thanks for the quick reply. Are you suggesting just lubricating and cleaning the hood latch? Or was it more than that for you? And did your airbag light come on at the same time?

Cleaning didn't really fix it for long in my case. Yeah, the airbag light came on too; it's all tied into the same system. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop. Sounds like the same sensor issue I had, and they'll be able to diagnose it properly.

I have a Talisman and had a similar issue. The 'Active hood fault' message kept appearing. Did you check the hood latch itself? Sometimes it can get gunked up and cause a false reading.
