Active Hood Fault

I'm having an issue with my 2017 Renault Talisman diesel. I keep getting an 'Active hood fault' message, and the airbag warning light is on. Error memory shows the spring actuators triggered. The car has 55958 km. I suspect a defective acceleration sensor. Has anyone else had this? I'm expecting a repair cost around 315€, which seems steep for a sensor.

I have a Talisman and had a similar issue. The 'Active hood fault' message kept appearing. Did you check the hood latch itself? Sometimes it can get gunked up and cause a false reading.

Thanks for the quick reply. Are you suggesting just lubricating and cleaning the hood latch? Or was it more than that for you? And did your airbag light come on at the same time?

Cleaning didn't really fix it for long in my case. Yeah, the airbag light came on too; it's all tied into the same system. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop. Sounds like the same sensor issue I had, and they'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks for the help. Your confirmation about the airbag light is useful and makes me think it's a defective sensor. I'll see a technician to get it fixed. It's good to know others have had this and it can be fixed.
