Active Hood Fault and Airbag Light

I have a 2021 Chevrolet Spin with a gasoline engine. I'm getting an "Active hood fault" message in the on-board computer, and the airbag warning light is on. Error memory shows a fault, and the spring actuators have been triggered. Mileage is at 150820 km. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I have a Chevrolet Spin too, though a bit older. I had similar symptoms – the "Active hood fault" message and airbag light. For me, it turned out to be the acceleration sensor. Have you checked that?

Yes, the acceleration sensor. On my Spin, it's near the front impact zone. Replacing it isn't too hard if you're comfortable with car electronics, but given the airbag light, I'd advise getting a workshop to take a look. My issue was definitely the same sensor, and it seems to be a common problem. It's all related to the pedestrian safety system.

Thanks for the info. Took it to the shop, and you were right – defective acceleration sensor. Repair cost 315€. All sorted now.
