Active hood fault Honda City
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda City is displaying an "Active hood fault" message, accompanied by an airbag warning light and diagnostic errors. The issue might be due to triggered spring actuators, with a suspected faulty acceleration sensor as the cause. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by replacing a faulty sensor and recalibrating the system, suggesting a similar approach for the Honda City. An appointment has been scheduled to replace the sensor and recalibrate the system.

Thanks! No, nothing like a bump triggered it. The fault just appeared while driving. Was your Opel issue sensor-related, and how did you fix it?

Yep, it was a faulty sensor in the emergency brake system. I tried some basic fixes, but I had to take it to a workshop. They replaced the sensor and recalibrated the system. Sounds like a sensor issue with your hood system too. I'd suggest a trusted mechanic.

Thanks for the advice! I've scheduled an appointment to replace the acceleration sensor and recalibrate the system. The estimated cost is 315€. I appreciate you sharing your experience!

Sounds like a headache! I had a similar issue with my 2019 Opel Astra, but with the emergency brake system. Same symptoms: warning lights and error codes. Did anything trigger it, like a hard bump?
