Active Hood Fault Lexus UX

I'm experiencing an "Active hood fault" message on my 2023 Lexus UX hybrid, accompanied by the airbag warning lamp. Error memory shows a stored error, and the spring actuators seem to have been triggered. The car only has 34813 km on it. Any ideas? I suspect a defective acceleration sensor, but I'm not entirely sure. This is a safety system, and I'm quite worried.

I have a Lexus UX too, and I had a similar issue pop up a while back. Same active hood fault and airbag light. Did anything happen before it started, like a bump or something?

No, nothing like that. No bumps, no accidents, no hard braking, nothing out of the ordinary at all. It just appeared one morning when I started the car. Did yours start the same way?

Yep, mine was just like that. No warning, just BAM, lights and warnings. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective acceleration sensor, just as I suspected. The repair cost me 315€. All seems to be working as expected now.
