Active hood fault Mustang Mach-E
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E is displaying an "Active hood fault" message and an airbag light, with diagnostics indicating an error and spring actuators triggering. The issue may be related to a faulty acceleration or impact sensor, as a similar case involved replacing a faulty impact sensor to resolve the problem. It is recommended to visit a service center for diagnostics and potential sensor replacement.

No impacts that would trigger the collision detection. Can you give me more details about your experience? Did the system deploy the active hood, and were there any diagnostic trouble codes?

The hood didn't deploy, but I got the warning and airbag light. The shop said it was a faulty impact sensor. They replaced it, and it was fixed. Sounds similar. I'd recommend a shop visit.

Thanks for confirming. Given the similar symptoms, I'll schedule a diagnostic at a Ford service center. The estimated repair cost is 315€.

I have a Mustang Mach-E and saw something similar. It was related to the pedestrian safety system, I think. Did anything happen that might have triggered the crash detection system? Maybe a hard bump?
