Thanks for the insight. Is there a specific area of the wiring harness I should check? I want to check thoroughly before replacing the sensor. Can I manually reset the hood latch?

On my Volvo, the wiring harness connector to the impact sensor was the problem. It's usually near the front bumper, so it's exposed. Check for damage or corrosion. I wouldn't manually reset the hood latch without the right tools and knowledge; you could damage it. Get it checked by a technician.

Thanks for the advice. I took the car to a workshop, and they confirmed a defective acceleration sensor. The repair, including the sensor and labor, was 315€. The "Active hood fault" message is gone now.

I had a similar issue with my 2019 Volvo XC60 hybrid. The error message was about pedestrian safety system malfunction, but the symptoms were similar: airbag light, error codes, and the system seemed partially deployed. It was a faulty impact sensor. Did you check the wiring harness to the sensor? Sometimes a loose connection or corrosion can cause intermittent faults. Is the hood latch working?
