Active hood fault on Seat Alhambra

Hey, I've got a weird one. My 2018 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine is showing an 'Active hood fault' message. The airbag warning lamp is also lit. I scanned it and it shows an error related to the active hood system. Also, the spring actuators have been triggered. I am guessing a defective car sensor. Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas?

Whoa, active hood fault, that sounds worrying! I had something similar happen with my Alhambra, though I can't remember the exact error message. Was it also triggering the airbag light? I'm trying to remember the details. I recall something about a car sensor related to pedestrian safety. Did you by any chance check the hood latch itself? Maybe it's just a faulty connection?

Yeah, the airbag light is on too. And the error is definitely 'Active hood fault'. So, your issue was also related to the 'pedestrian safety' system? Do you remember what exactly was wrong with your car sensor?

Okay, airbag light too? That's pretty much what I experienced. Honestly, I didn't dive too deep into the specifics. My collision detection system was acting up, and they mentioned something about the 'active hood' being part of it for pedestrian safety. Considering the spring actuators have been triggered, I would suggest taking it to a workshop. It sounds like the system thinks there was a collision. They will be able to pinpoint which car electronics component failed exactly. It could be an acceleration sensor as you pointed out, but better to be sure. I'm not really an expert, and I don't want you to start replacing things without knowing for sure.

It was the acceleration sensor, like you thought. Replacement cost 315€. Thanks for the help!
