Active hood fault on Skoda Roomster
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Skoda Roomster displayed an 'Active hood fault' message and an illuminated airbag warning light, with error memory indicating triggered spring actuators. The issue was suspected to be a defective acceleration sensor, which is part of the car's safety system. A similar case confirmed that a faulty acceleration sensor could cause these symptoms. After professional diagnosis and repair, the problem was resolved, confirming the initial suspicion.

Interesting, thanks for the tip. When you say 'similar issue,' do you mean you also experienced the airbag warning light and the triggered spring actuators? I want to be sure we are talking about the same manifestation of the problem before I start tearing things apart.

Yes, precisely. The airbag light was on, and the actuators had deployed. It's all part of the collision detection system. Best to get it checked professionally – a faulty sensor can compromise the entire safety system. These modern car sensor issues are frustrating.

Understood. I appreciate you confirming the acceleration sensor suspicion. I took it to a local workshop and they confirmed the diagnosis. The active hood fault message is now gone, and the airbag light is off. Repair including parts and labor cost 315€. Thanks again for your help!

I had a similar issue with my Roomster. That 'Active hood fault' message is quite annoying. For me, it was also the acceleration sensor. Have you checked the wiring harness to the sensor? Sometimes a loose connection can trigger the system fault.
