Adam Active Hood Fault

I have a 2012 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine, and this 'Active hood fault' message keeps popping up! The airbag light is on, and my OBD scanner shows an error. I can hear the spring actuators under the hood firing sometimes. Any ideas?

That sounds familiar. I have an Adam too. Was yours after a particularly rough bump or anything? Just trying to get a feel for what might trigger it.

A rough bump? I can't say for sure if it started right after one, but now that you mention it, it might have. What happened with yours? Did you fix it yourself, or did you end up taking it to a garage?

I didn't even try to fix it myself. I'm not that confident with car electronics. The error message and the airbag light worried me too much. I took it straight to a workshop. Turned out to be some kind of faulty sensor. Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to airbags and pedestrian safety, right?

Right you are! Thanks for the tip. Sounds like I should take it to a shop. The acceleration sensor is likely defective and a replacement will be around 315€. I appreciate the insight!
