Adam check engine light and power loss

Check engine light on my 2013 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine. Getting reduced power and higher fuel consumption. I suspect a faulty exhaust temperature sensor. Could an exhaust leak be causing this?

I also drive an Adam and had similar issues not too long ago. Check engine light, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption are definitely telltale signs. In my case, it was the exhaust temperature sensor. Have you had any work done on your exhaust system recently?

No recent work on the exhaust system. What were the specifics of your situation? Was the sensor replacement straightforward, and did it fix the symptoms?

The sensor replacement fixed everything. The mechanic said the faulty sensor might have been caused by a small exhaust leak. Get it checked to rule out any underlying issues before replacing the sensor. It may save money and further repairs.

I'll schedule an appointment to inspect the exhaust system and address the temperature sensor. The repair cost 265€, thanks for the advice.
