Adam Cruise Control Failure

Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't think about the brake light switch; I'll check that right away. The diagnostic tool did give a specific error code, but I don't have it with me now. I remember it mentioning a possible problem in the cable or plug connection for the cruise control system. Does that sound familiar, or does it point to something else? I'm trying to avoid going to a mechanic if I can.

A cable or plug connection issue sounds possible. I didn't have the same error code, but it's still worth checking the connections. Considering the error code, and that you're not super confident with car electrics, I think it's best to get it checked by a professional. I did the same, and they fixed it fast. It could be a bad wire, a corroded connector, or something else. A proper diagnostic check will find the problem.

I appreciate the advice. I've decided to book an appointment with a local mechanic. They quoted a potential repair cost of about 95€, which seems okay. I'll post the outcome here once the problem is fixed. Thanks again for your help.

I also have a Vauxhall Adam, and I had a similar issue a while ago. Those error messages are annoying! My cruise control failed, and I was getting an error light on the dash too. Have you checked the brake light switch? Sometimes a bad switch can mess with the cruise control because the car thinks you're always braking. The cruise control module uses input from sensors and switches to work. Did your diagnostic tool give you a specific error code? That might help.
