Adam engine overheating

Hi, I have a 2012 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is on and the engine is overheating. I've checked the coolant level, and it's fine. My car has 95364 km. Could it be the active air flap?

Overheating on an Adam, that's not good. Have you noticed any difference in performance or strange noises coming from the engine? Maybe a fault code?

No performance issues that I've noticed, and no strange noises either. I don't have a fault code reader, but could a defective electromechanism really cause overheating?

Yes, a defective electromechanism in the active air flap system can definitely cause overheating. If the flaps aren't opening properly, it restricts airflow to the radiator. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop; it might cost around 590€ to repair.

Thanks for the info! I'll take it to a workshop as soon as possible and have them check the active air flap. Seems like you nailed it.
