Adam Fuel Flap Fault

Hi, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 2012 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine and about 63k km on the clock. Recently, the fuel flap release has stopped working. I get an error stored in the error memory, and I can't lock or unlock the fuel filler flap. Also, some other functions seem unavailable at the same time. Any ideas what's causing this?

Sounds like an electrical fault. Have you checked the fuse for the fuel flap actuator? It might also be a dodgy connection to the release button itself. Failing that, the actuator motor might have failed. Could also be a defective linkage, if your Adam uses one.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the fuel flap actuator fuse located? I've had a look in the manual, but I can't seem to find anything specific to the fuel flap. Also, how easy is it to check the connection to the release button?

Fuse location can vary. Check under the bonnet and also near the glove box, diagrams should be on the fuse box cover. Testing the button connection requires a multimeter and knowing the correct pins. Honestly, with those symptoms, I'd suspect the electric actuator is faulty or the wiring harness has a short. Better get it to a workshop before you break something.

Cheers, I think you're right, best to get it looked at by a professional. Turns out it was the electric actuator that failed, total bill was 210€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
