Adam fuel level sensor fault

I own a 2019 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light illuminated. The engine stalls at idle. The error memory indicates a fuel level sensor fault. Is there a fuse linked to the fuel level sensor? I checked, but could not find one.

Interesting... I've seen something similar with my Adam. Fuel gauge issues can be tricky, but it sounds a lot like what I experienced last year. Have you noticed any fluctuations in the fuel gauge reading itself? Does it seem accurate when the tank is full versus near empty? It's like trying to measure the ocean with a teaspoon when these sensors go bad.

The fuel gauge seems to behave erratically, sometimes showing empty when I know there's fuel. It's highly unreliable. Was your issue confirmed to be the fuel level sensor itself, and what was the resolution in your case?

Yes, after much diagnostics, it was indeed the fuel level sensor. Given your symptoms, it's pointing in the same direction. Replacing the sensor should fix it, but a workshop visit is recommended to confirm. Faulty wiring could also cause the erratic behaviour, like a broken wire in a guitar amp causing a horrible noise.

Thank you for the advice. I followed your suggestion and visited a workshop. The fuel level sensor was indeed faulty and has now been replaced. The total repair cost was 52€. The issue is now resolved.
