Adam knock sensor issue

I've got a 2013 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine and I'm having some trouble. The check engine light is on, and it's burning way more fuel than usual. Plus, the engine idles really rough sometimes. I've checked the error codes, and it points to a defective knock sensor. I wiggled the cable and plug, but that didn't seem to help. Anyone else had this issue?

I have an Adam too, and that sounds familiar. Did the rough idling and higher fuel consumption start at the same time as the warning light?

Yeah, pretty much all at once. It was running fine one day, and then the next day, bam, all these problems showed up together. Could it really be just a bad connection, or is the sensor itself likely broken?

If wiggling the wires didn't solve it, it might be more than just a loose connection. The knock sensor could be faulty. I'd suggest having it checked at a workshop. They can diagnose it properly.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were right. It was the knock sensor. They replaced it, and now everything's running smoothly again. Cost me 95€, but at least it's fixed.
