Adam Lighting Fault

My 2015 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. I've got a fault in the lighting – sometimes the lights just switch on by themselves. I've scanned it and there's an error stored related to the light switch. I've checked the fuses and they seem fine. Could it be a dodgy light switch or something more sinister like the BCM?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Adam. Intermittent lighting problems are a pain. Did you check the dimmer switch too? Sometimes that can cause weirdness with the dashboard lights and throw up false errors.

Good shout! I didn't think of the dimmer switch. Where is it located exactly? And could a faulty dimmer switch really cause the main headlights to switch on even when the car is off?

Yeah, the dimmer can cause all sorts of havoc. It's usually on the steering column stalk. As for the headlights switching on when the car is off, it sounds more like the switch itself or a short in the wiring. Best to get it checked at a workshop if you're not comfortable digging deeper.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out you were right! Took it to a local garage, and they found a defective cable/plug connection. Repair came to 95€. All sorted now, though!
