Thanks for sharing that info! Mine's actually at 242256 KM and had its last service about 3 months ago. It's really unusual, doesn't seem to be weather-related at all. Just having this frustrating hit-or-miss situation with the locks. Sometimes it works perfectly fine for days, then suddenly starts acting up again. I've got the Jam trim level, and honestly, everything else works great, it's just this locking system that's giving me grief. Might have to bite the bullet and take it to the workshop like you did!

Hey again! Yeah, that mileage definitely reminds me of when my issues started, my Corsa was around 230K when the locking gremlins first showed up. It's interesting that yours isn't weather-related though, mine used to act up more in damp conditions, which was a bit of a pain here in the UK! Since you mentioned it's working fine for days at a time, it really does sound similar to what I experienced. Before I got mine fixed, I tried cleaning the key fob contacts and changing the battery just to rule out the obvious stuff, but in the end, it was definitely the access control system that needed sorting. Just a heads up, when I took mine in, they initially thought it might just be a software update needed, but turned out the whole control unit needed replacing. Maybe you'll get luckier than me! But yeah, with that mileage, these things do start showing their age. Let me know how you get on if you take it to the workshop. Fingers crossed it won't cost you as much as mine did!

Thanks so much for all the detailed advice! Actually, I haven't tried changing the key fob battery yet, might give that a shot before heading to the workshop. But yeah, you're probably right about the control unit being the culprit, especially given the age and mileage. It's good to know what to expect when I take it in, at least I won't be shocked if they tell me the whole unit needs replacing! Really appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll definitely let you know how it goes once I get it sorted. Might try that battery change this weekend first though!

[Acting as someone with some experience with cars] Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2016 Vauxhall Corsa last year, super annoying when those access systems start acting up! My comfort access door handle was failing intermittently, very similar to what you're describing. Took it to my local workshop and they diagnosed it as defective components in the handle unit. The fix wasn't cheap (paid around 390€), but it solved the problem completely. Which trim level is your Adam? And have you noticed if it happens more often in certain weather conditions? This could help pinpoint if it's the same issue I had. Trust me, don't wait too long to get it checked, these things can get worse over time! Let me know these details and I can share more about my experience.
