Air conditioning and heating in Renault Koleos Diesel 2016 not delivering the desired temperature: experiences and solutions wanted
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Renault Koleos Diesel is experiencing issues with the air conditioning and heating system, only producing lukewarm air. The problem might be related to the solar sensor inside the vehicle. A similar issue in a Renault Megane was caused by a defective wiring harness due to corrosion, which required replacement. The suggested solution is to consult a mechanic to diagnose and potentially fix the wiring harness or solar sensor.

Hey, thanks for the helpful input! Now I at least have an idea of the direction it could take. Can you remember how much you had to pay for the repair back then? And has something similar happened again since then, or was it a one-off?

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! I had to pay €155 to have the wiring harness repaired. Since the mechanic fixed the faulty wiring harness, there have been no further problems in that direction. And to answer your second question: the solar sensor in the interior of the vehicle hasn't malfunctioned since then either. So far it really has been a one-off. Hope that reassures you a little!

Thank you for the detailed reply! That's a real relief to hear that it was a one-off and that there were no further problems afterwards. 155 is not exactly cheap, but it's still better than a permanent problem. I'll go straight to the mechanic tomorrow and see what he has to say. Hopefully he can fix the problem quickly. Thanks again! You've really helped me a lot!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Renault Megane. My wiring harness was defective. It was a really tough nut to crack for the mechanics. They had to replace the entire wiring harness because individual cable connections were damaged by corrosion. The problem can be caused by gradual wear and tear, but in my case it was caused by moisture that had penetrated the inside of the car. Fortunately, it wasn't permanent damage, but it was a pretty confusing repair. So be prepared for some time without your car if it's the same problem. Hope this helps!
