Air conditioning and heating in Renault Trafic 2007 Diesel no longer working properly

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my Renault Trafic 2007 Diesel (already 81766 km behind it). The air conditioning only spits out warm air, the heating/cooling is no longer what it used to be and the A/C system no longer switches on. Could this have something to do with the signal error in the interior temperature sensor? I had a pretty bad experience on my last visit to the mechanic and I don't want to go again unnecessarily. Has anyone here had similar problems and how did you deal with them? Can use any help, thanks!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Renault Megane 2004. The symptoms were exactly the same - the air conditioning wasn't working properly, only emitting warm air and the cooling/heating wasn't working properly. The last time I went to the garage about this, they found that it was actually the air conditioning control unit that was faulty. The whole thing was quite an effort, as the air conditioning control unit plays a central role in the car's climate control and its failure can cause the entire system to malfunction. This may also be the case for you. Try a different workshop and have your air conditioning control unit checked in more detail. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the input! I wasn't sure if it was the A/C control unit or not. Who would have thought this little part could cause so much trouble.... Do you happen to remember how much the fun cost you and if any other problems have cropped up since then? I'm really glad for any information I can get!

Hey, sure, I still remember the prices. Repairing the air conditioning control unit wasn't exactly cheap, it cost me a whopping €880. But since then I haven't had any more problems with the air conditioning or heating/cooling. And regarding the signal error in the interior temperature sensor - after a visit to the mechanic, this was also rectified. I would definitely recommend a visit to the garage for your Renault Trafic. Sure, it will hurt your wallet at first, but after that your car should run smoothly again. Hope this helps you!

Wow, that really is a lot of money. But I'd rather do a thorough job than have the same problem again in a few months. I will go to another garage and get a quote for repairing the A/C control unit. Thanks for all the tips, I feel a little less lost now. You guys are great! Thank you again!
