Air conditioning in Ford S Max 2009 only blows warm air: experience and advice wanted
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Ford S Max is experiencing an issue where the air conditioning only blows warm air. The suspected cause is a faulty signal from the air quality sensor. A similar problem in a 2012 Ford Galaxy was resolved by replacing a defective cable connecting the sensor. It is suggested to visit a garage to check and potentially replace the cable to restore proper air conditioning function.

Hi, thanks for the helpful tip, that actually sounds very similar to the problem I'm currently having with my S Max. Do you happen to remember how much the whole thing cost you at the garage? And have there been any other problems with the air conditioning since then or was that all sorted? Best regards!

Hello again! So, after I went to the mechanic, the fault with the air quality sensor signal was fixed. If you're asking about costs, the repair for the defective cable from the sensor cost €95. Since then, my air conditioning system has been running really well, no more problems. All in all, it's a trifle that needs to be repaired, but after that you can drive again without any worries! Best regards back!

Thank you very much for the quick reply! 95 € sounds fair. I'm reassured to hear that you didn't experience any further problems afterwards. I think I will take my S Max to the garage as soon as possible to have this checked and fixed. I really appreciate your help! Best regards and thank you again!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Ford Galaxy. It turned out that the sensor wasn't faulty, it was the wire/cable connecting the sensor. On my last visit to the garage they had to replace the cable and everything worked fine again after that. It wasn't the worst problem, but it should be fixed to avoid major damage. Hope this helps you! Best regards.
