Air conditioning in Peugeot 207 Diesel (2011) only blows warm air: experiences and solutions wanted

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Peugeot 207, diesel, built in 2011, and currently with around 170414km on the clock. The air conditioning is only blowing out warm air and both heating and cooling are somehow no longer giving much. After my last bad experience with my mechanic, I'm a bit cautious this time. In the back of my mind, I suspect that perhaps the solar sensor in the interior is acting up. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and can report back? How did you proceed and how did your mechanic solve it? Thank you for your help!

Summary of the thread

A Peugeot 207 owner is experiencing an issue where the air conditioning only blows warm air, suspecting a faulty solar sensor. Another individual with a similar problem in a different Peugeot model found that a defective wiring harness was the cause. The solution involved replacing the wiring harness, which resolved the issue completely. The owner plans to consult a mechanic to investigate if the wiring harness might be the cause of their problem as well.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hello, I had exactly the same problem with my Peugeot 2008, diesel, year of manufacture 2014. It was the wiring harness that was defective. The mechanic had to replace the entire wiring harness during my last visit to the garage. It was quite time-consuming, but luckily it wasn't a serious problem for the car. Be careful, if the symptoms are the same, you should have it repaired quickly to avoid further damage. A good tip is to find a qualified mechanic who is familiar with this particular problem. Hope this helps you!

Hi, thanks for the info! So it was the wiring harness in your case... Interesting. Do you happen to remember the cost of the repair? And has anything else similar occurred since then, or did the repair fix the fault completely? Cheers!

Hi, sure, no problem, so the repair for the broken wiring harness cost me €155. A bit expensive, but what can you do, right? And the best thing about it is that since the mechanic was on it, everything has been running like clockwork again! The malfunction of the solar sensor inside the vehicle is no longer an issue. So everything worked out great and I haven't had any similar problems since. I'm really glad to have this behind me! Hope this helps you, good luck! Bye!

Hi, I really appreciate the information! 155 actually seems quite reasonable to me if it gets everything working perfectly again. I'll definitely make an appointment with my mechanic and see if that might be the issue for me too. Didn't think it could be something with the wiring harness. Thanks again for the tip! See you then!
