I'm not an expert either, but my last garage fixed it professionally. As I understood it, the control unit had to be reset and reprogrammed. They also ran some tests to make sure all systems were in order and also checked the wiring to rule out that it was causing the problem. They explained that although it is serious, if it is dealt with properly there is nothing to worry about. So no need to panic, but you should still get it checked at the garage soon! All the best!
