Summary of the thread
The issue revolves around a malfunctioning alarm system in a 2005 Audi A6 Diesel, suspected to be caused by a defective auxiliary battery. Thanks for your answer, really great! The last time my Audi was in the workshop was about 192300 km ago, when they replaced the turbo. So it's been a while... Otherwise there have been no other problems so far. Hm, maybe I really should have the battery checked, thanks for the tip!

No problem, that's what we're here for! With so many kilometers, it's been a while since you've been to the workshop. It could be that the battery is ageing. The alarm system also draws power, so that could also have an effect on the battery. I would definitely advise you to have it checked at the garage. Hopefully that will clear up your problem and you won't have any more problems. But hey, we all know that old Audis can have their quirks. Still, they're great cars, aren't they? So, get the battery checked and give us an update on how it went! Good luck!

Thanks for your advice, that's really nice of you! You're right, old Audis can be bitchy sometimes, but I still love mine. I will take your advice and make an appointment at the garage to have the battery checked. As soon as I know more, I'll keep you posted. Thanks again, you've really helped me out! So long, take care and drive safely!

Hi there! It could indeed be the auxiliary battery. I had a similar issue, and replacing the battery solved the issue. My garage also checked the wiring and sensors. Hope this helps!

Hey, I once had a similar problem with my Audi A4 Avant (2003). To be honest, I'm not a car expert, but I do have a bit of experience with cars. I had to take the car to the garage because the battery was discharged due to aging. They had to replace my battery and I paid 330 euros for it. However, it would be good if you could tell me more about your car, maybe then I can help you better. Has your car been in the workshop recently or have you had other problems?
