Last service was at 71000 KM with regular oil change and filter replacement. The intercooler hoses show no visible damage and I actually checked all connections. What really concerns me is the check engine light and the whistling noise under load. Its not normal turbocharger sound, more like air escaping somewhere in the system. Initially I thought the throttle body might need cleaning since the engine stalls at idle, but given the boost control issues and that distinct noise, Im suspecting a leak in the pressure system. The sound gets louder as RPM increases. No black smoke from exhaust so far. Unfortunately I dont have proper diagnostic tools. Would a boost pressure test be included in the initial inspection cost at most shops?
