Wanted to update that this issue is still ongoing after checking my vehicle at 87928 KM. The locking system problems seem worse on the passenger side now. All doors are affected, but interestingly the front passenger door gives more trouble than others. The door switch appears completely unresponsive during wet weather. Got error code P1B23 from diagnostics which points to the door handle electronics module. Looks like I might need more than just a wiring fix. The door electronics seem to be failing systematically rather than just having a loose connection. Will update once I get a proper diagnosis from the workshop. Thanks for sharing your experience with the wiring fault repair, at least I know where to start looking.

Thanks for the update on your Giulia. Based on your error code and symptoms, this does sound more complex than my initial wiring fault issue. After I had my repair done, I also experienced a similar progression where the passenger door started acting up, but in my case it was due to water intrusion affecting the door sensor connections. Given that your issues worsen in wet conditions and the P1B23 code specifically points to the door handle electronics, you might be dealing with a failed door control module rather than just damaged wiring. When my wiring was fixed, the problem was isolated to one door. The fact that all your doors are affected suggests a more systematic electric door system failure. My suggestion would be to have the workshop check: 1. The main door control module 2. The sensor connections at each door handle 3. Any signs of water damage to the door electronics Since you mentioned 87928 KM, the door switch components might simply be wearing out from regular use. My repair costs stayed under 100 Euro because it was just wiring, but a full door handle electronics replacement might run significantly higher. Would recommend getting the water intrusion checked first before replacing any electronic components, as moisture could keep damaging new parts if that issue isnt addressed.

Thanks everyone for the input on my ongoing Giulia door issues. After checking again today at 87928 KM, things have gotten worse, especially on the passenger side. All doors are having problems but the front passenger door sensor is particularly unresponsive in wet weather. The diagnostic scan showed error code P1B23, which points directly to the door handle electronics module. Starting to think this is more serious than just loose wiring. The door actuator and electric door systems seem to be failing across all doors rather than showing an isolated connection issue. Planning to take it to the workshop soon for a proper diagnosis. Really appreciate the advice about checking for water damage before replacing parts, that makes a lot of sense given how the problems get worse in wet conditions. The door switch seems completely dead during rain, which matches what others mentioned about moisture issues. Will post an update once I get the official diagnosis and repair quote. At least I have a better idea what to discuss with the technicians now. Thanks for sharing your similar experiences with these door sensor issues.

I had a similar door electronics issue with my 2017 Alfa Giulia diesel. Having worked on basic car maintenance, I was initially stumped by this wiring fault. The symptoms matched exactly, keyless entry stopped working while push-button start remained functional. After some troubleshooting, it turned out the door actuator wiring had a damaged connection near the door hinge, causing intermittent sensor failures. The workshop found the door mechanism had a loose plug connection that was causing the door electronics to malfunction. The repair involved accessing the wiring harness through the door panel and replacing a section of the damaged cables, plus reconnecting the sensor plug properly. Total cost was 95 Euro for parts and labor. Your issue sounds very similar, but to provide more specific guidance, could you share: Are all doors affected or just one? Does the issue occur more frequently in wet weather? Are you getting any specific error codes? Have you noticed any other electrical issues? These details would help determine if you are dealing with the same wiring fault or potentially a different door sensor problem.
