Allion alarm system fault

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2003 Toyota Allion with a gasoline engine. The alarm system seems dead! A scan shows a siren communication fault. The error memory has stored the fault and the alarm system isn't working. I've jiggled wires and checked connections, but no luck. Could it be a bad alarm controller, or something else? Any ideas?

Interesting. I had a similar issue in my Allion, though mine is newer. Sounds like a security breach waiting to happen, doesn't it? In my case, the problem was a defective cable or plug connection. Did you check the connections to the siren itself? Sometimes those can corrode or come loose. Also, are you sure the siren isn't just dead? Like a lightbulb, they can burn out.

Thanks for the quick reply! That's helpful. You mentioned checking the connections to the siren itself - could you be more specific? Where is the siren located? I've looked around the engine bay, but I can't spot it. Also, how did you check the connections? Did you just visually inspect them, or did you use a multimeter?

Specific locations aren't possible as they vary based on regional specifications. I opted not to delve into it myself and sought assistance from a workshop. They identified a defective cable or plug connection, costing about 95€. It's like fixing a clock with a hammer – sometimes it's best to leave it to the professionals to prevent further complications.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I think I'm better off taking it to a workshop. It sounds like a defective cable or plug connection is the most likely issue, so I'll tell them to focus on that. Hopefully, it won't cost me too much to fix. I appreciate you sharing your experience!
