Allion steering issues
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Toyota Allion owner reported increased steering effort and occasional steering wheel vibrations, suspecting a faulty steering angle sensor. Another Allion owner with similar past issues suggested checking the electronic stability control and confirmed that a faulty steering angle sensor was the cause in their case. The original issue was resolved by replacing the steering angle sensor and performing a wheel alignment at a workshop.

It seemed to happen pretty suddenly. I haven't checked the electronic stability control specifically. What was the eventual cause in your case? Was it definitely the steering angle sensor?

Yep, pretty sure it was the steering angle sensor. I tried a few basic things myself, but in the end, I had to take it to a workshop. They mentioned something about the coding being faulty. Honestly, best to get it checked professionally; messing with the steering column can be risky.

Thanks for the info. Took it to a workshop and you were right, the steering angle sensor's coding was faulty. They replaced the sensor and did a wheel alignment. Cost me 195€. Problem solved.

Hey, I drive an Allion too, and I had similar issues not too long ago. The vibrating steering wheel and the heavy steering are a pain, right? Did it happen suddenly, or did you notice it gradually getting worse? Have you checked the electronic stability control? That could be related.
