Almera electric steering column defective

Hello, I have a 2004 Nissan Almera with a diesel engine. The electric steering column adjustment is defective. An error is stored, and the steering column can no longer be adjusted electrically. Is this a common problem?

I've had a similar issue with my Almera. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the steering column adjustment motor? That was the cause of the problem in my case.

Thanks for the tip. Where exactly are these connections located? Is it easy to access them?

Yes, cable and plug were the issue. I had the same symptoms. I didn't check it myself, but the workshop confirmed it was a defective cable or plug connection. I suggest you go to a workshop.

Thank you for the confirmation. I took it to the workshop, and as suspected, it was indeed a defective cable connection. Repair cost was 95€. Steering column adjustment works again.
