Summary of the thread

Thanks, I appreciate the comment. What checks did you do on the oil pressure sensor when you were troubleshooting?

I disconnected the sensor to see if the light stayed on. Then, I used a multimeter to check the sensor's resistance against the specs. The values were way off, which confirmed it was bad. But even after I replaced it, the problem was still there. I'd recommend a workshop to investigate.

Thanks for the guidance. I took it to a mechanic, and it turned out to be a defective oil pump. The repairs cost 755€. Your help was invaluable.

I had a similar problem with my Almera. The oil pressure light came on sometimes. Have you checked the oil pressure sensor? Mine was faulty and gave the wrong readings. It's worth a look to see if that's the problem.
