Almera oil pressure warning light

I have a 2003 Nissan Almera diesel with 136796 kilometers. The oil pressure light is on and off, and there are concerning mechanical noises from the engine. There's no oil leak. I recently changed the oil filter, could the oil pump be bad?

I had a similar problem with my Almera. The oil pressure light came on sometimes. Have you checked the oil pressure sensor? Mine was faulty and gave the wrong readings. It's worth a look to see if that's the problem.

I disconnected the sensor to see if the light stayed on. Then, I used a multimeter to check the sensor's resistance against the specs. The values were way off, which confirmed it was bad. But even after I replaced it, the problem was still there. I'd recommend a workshop to investigate.
