Alphard oxygen sensor issue

Experiencing trouble with my 2021 Toyota Alphard (gasoline engine). Check engine light is on, and fuel consumption has increased significantly. Diagnostic indicates an oxygen sensor error. The car has 70134 km on it. I've visually checked the sensor and wonder if a defective cable or plug connection could be the problem? Has anyone else encountered this?

Sounds like the O2 sensor is failing. I had similar symptoms a while back – check engine light and terrible fuel economy. Before replacing the catalytic converter, check for corrosion on the connector or damaged cables.

Where exactly should I look for those connectors?

It's near the exhaust system, so be careful when the engine is hot. If you aren't comfortable looking around, it might be best to have a workshop take a look. They can pinpoint the exact problem, and it might just be a faulty connection as you suggested.

I appreciate your help! I'll take it to a workshop and share the diagnostic result. Hopefully, it is just the oxygen sensor. Repair cost should be around 95€ if this is the problem.
