Alphard Sunroof Initialization Error
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Toyota Alphard hybrid is experiencing a 'sunroof not initialized' error, causing the sunblind to get stuck and preventing the sunroof from opening or closing. The issue might be linked to coding modifications done on the car. A suggested solution is to reset the sunroof system, which was ultimately resolved by a workshop through reinitialization.

How did you reset the sunroof system? Is it something I can do myself, or is it a workshop job?

I didn't manage it myself in the end. It was related to a software glitch after some modifications. Best bet is to take it to a workshop, they should be able to sort it out.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the workshop as suggested, and they sorted it out by reinitializing the sunroof. Cost me 75€.

I had a similar issue with my Alphard. My sunblind got stuck too. I couldn’t retract or extend it. Did you try resetting the sunroof system?
