The diagnostic report indicated a potential defect in the control unit but didn't specify which one. Was your issue consistently reproducible, or did it occur sporadically?

Mine was sporadic at first but became more frequent. Given your symptoms and the error code, I'd suggest having it properly diagnosed at a qualified workshop. The repair, including wheel alignment, ended up costing me around 1000€. It's a safety issue, so it’s worth addressing promptly.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate the advice and will schedule an appointment with a reputable workshop to address the issue with the electronic control unit and lateral sensor. I trust this will resolve the safety warning and restore functionality to the ABS system.

I had a similar issue with my Altima. The ABS and electronic stability control were acting up. It turned out to be a defective control unit affecting the sensor. Did your diagnostic specify a particular control unit?
