Amaze ABS Traction Control Issues

My 2022 Honda Amaze (gasoline engine) is throwing up some weird errors. The ABS lamp is constantly lit, and I'm getting traction control issues, like the ABS system is completely offline. It started happening a few weeks ago, intermittently, but now it's constant. I've hooked it up to a basic OBD reader, and it's showing a speed signal malfunction. Anyone seen anything similar with this model?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Honda Amaze is experiencing constant ABS and traction control issues, with the ABS lamp lit and a speed signal malfunction error. The problem, initially intermittent, has become persistent, affecting braking smoothness. A defective ABS control unit is identified as the likely cause, confirmed by a workshop diagnosis, leading to its replacement and resolution of the issue.

That sounds like a potentially serious issue. The speed signal fault could definitely be the culprit behind the ABS and traction control problems. Has the car's behavior changed noticeably, like during braking or acceleration? Are there any other warning lights illuminated on the dashboard besides the ABS?

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, braking feels a bit off, like it's not as smooth. No other warning lights are on, just the ABS. I've checked the ABS sensors visually, and they seem okay, no obvious damage. Could it be a defective control unit? I've read somewhere about similar problems.

Given the symptoms and the error code, a defective control unit is definitely a strong possibility. From my experience, these can be sensitive to voltage spikes or internal failures. Although external checks are a good starting point, this sounds like something that would require deeper diagnostic to confirm the root cause, which can not be completed without proper equipment. I'd suggest taking it to a reputable workshop with the right diagnostic tools.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I suspected it might be the control unit. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective ABS control unit. Cost me about 1000€ to get it replaced. At least it's sorted now!
