Amaze Diesel Particulate Filter Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Honda Amaze diesel owner experienced a drop in engine power and smoke during acceleration, suspecting a clogged diesel particulate filter. The engine light was on, and fuel efficiency had decreased. A similar case confirmed that these symptoms likely indicate a defective diesel particulate filter. The recommended solution was to have it professionally checked and replaced, which resolved the issue.

The engine light is indeed on. I haven't checked the backpressure, but fuel efficiency seems lower than usual. What was the final diagnosis and solution in your case?

In my case, the garage confirmed it was a defective diesel particulate filter. Considering the symptoms and the engine light, I'd strongly advise getting it checked by a professional. Continuing to drive it could cause further damage.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – defective diesel particulate filter. Cost me 1550€ for the filter replacement, but the car runs like new again.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Amaze. Was the engine light on? Check if the backpressure is unusually high. If it is, your suspicion about the diesel particulate filter is likely correct. What fuel efficiency are you getting?
