Amaze fuel filter heater issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Honda Amaze diesel (60696 km). I'm getting an error code related to the fuel filter heater, and I've noticed a distinct loss of power, poor engine response, higher fuel consumption, and uneven idling. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause all of this? Anyone experienced this?

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Honda Amaze diesel is experiencing issues related to the fuel filter heater, including error codes, power loss, poor engine response, increased fuel consumption, and uneven idling. The problem may be caused by a defective cable or plug connection, possibly due to corrosion. A suggested solution is to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed and repaired, as a similar issue was resolved by replacing a corroded connector.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Oh, that sounds familiar! I have an Amaze too, though I can't remember the exact year. I had similar symptoms a while back: power loss, rough idling... Fuel consumption was definitely up! Have you checked the connections to the fuel filter heater itself? Is everything looking clean and corrosion-free? Could be a simple fix!

Thanks for the quick reply! I did visually inspect the connections, and they seemed okay at first glance. However, I didn't check closely for corrosion. When you had this problem, was the issue obvious, or did you need special tools to diagnose it?

Well, I'm no mechanic, that's for sure! But honestly? I poked around a bit, jiggled some wires (probably shouldn't have!), and it didn't help. In the end, I just took it to a workshop. They ran some diagnostics, confirmed it was the fuel filter heater circuit, and replaced a corroded connector. It fixed everything! Maybe save yourself the headache and do the same?

Appreciate the advice! I think I'll take your suggestion and head to the shop. It's probably best to have it properly diagnosed, especially if corrosion is involved. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
