Amaze oil pressure warning and engine noise
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Honda Amaze diesel with 136,918 km is experiencing intermittent oil pressure warning lights and loud mechanical engine noises. The oil level is fine, suggesting potential issues with a clogged oil filter or a failing oil pump. Given the recent oil and filter change, the symptoms point more towards oil pump failure. Immediate inspection by a qualified technician is advised to prevent further engine damage.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't noticed any change in oil viscosity, and I don't suspect fuel dilution. The oil and filter were changed about 8000 km ago, using the correct grade oil as specified in the Honda service manual. Given that, does it still sound like oil pump failure is the most likely culprit?

Considering the oil and filter service history and lack of evidence for other potential causes, oil pump failure is unfortunately the most probable cause. Continuing to operate the vehicle with these symptoms risks catastrophic engine damage. I strongly advise having the vehicle inspected by a qualified technician at your earliest convenience to confirm the diagnosis and prevent further issues.

Thanks, that's what I feared. I'll get it towed to the workshop first thing tomorrow. The mechanic confirmed it was indeed the oil pump and quoted 755€ for the repair. Expensive, but better than a completely wrecked engine. Thanks again for your help!

Good day. Intermittent oil pressure warning lights coupled with mechanical engine noise are indeed cause for concern. While a clogged oil filter is a possibility, the symptoms you describe lean more toward a defect within the oil pump itself. Has there been any change in oil viscosity recently, or any indication of fuel dilution in the oil? Also, when was the last time the oil and filter were changed?
