Amaze oil pressure warning and engine noise

While a clogged oil filter is a possibility, the symptoms you describe lean more toward a defect within the oil pump itself. Has there been any change in oil viscosity recently, or any indication of fuel dilution in the oil? Also, when was the last time the oil and filter were changed?

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't noticed any change in oil viscosity, and I don't suspect fuel dilution. The oil and filter were changed about 8000 km ago, using the correct grade oil as specified in the Honda service manual. Given that, does it still sound like oil pump failure is the most likely culprit?

Thanks, that's what I feared. I'll get it towed to the workshop first thing tomorrow. The mechanic confirmed it was indeed the oil pump and quoted 755€ for the repair. Expensive, but better than a completely wrecked engine. Thanks again for your help!
