The error says "Display defective". Is that what you saw? Was the problem related to the car speakers? Was it expensive to repair?

Yes, that is precisely the error I encountered. In my case, the internal amplifier within the head unit had failed, which meant no output to the car speakers. The only reliable solution was replacing the display. Considering the stored error points to the same, I would suggest a detailed inspection at a qualified workshop. The error message may indicate that the eventual repair cost will be in that ballpark figure you mentioned.

Thanks for the information! I took it to a shop, and you were right. The display unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The repair cost was around 725€. Everything is working perfectly now.

I have an AMG GT as well, and I experienced something similar with my audio system. The symptoms you describe, particularly the complete lack of sound and stored error codes, do point towards a potential issue with the display. Does the error code specifically mention the audio system or display unit?
