AMG GT Engine Overheating Diagnosis

My 2017 Mercedes AMG GT with a gasoline engine is having issues. The engine is overheating and takes a long time to reach normal operating temperature. I suspect a cooling system problem, maybe the thermostat or thermostat housing. The cooling fan works, and I see no coolant leaks or water pump issues. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my Audi A4. The engine ran hot and took ages to warm up. It was the thermostat. Is the coolant level dropping? If the thermostat is stuck open, that would cause those symptoms. Also check the cooling fan kicks in at the right temperature. It could be a faulty sensor. How old is the coolant?

The coolant level is stable. The cooling fan seems to work, but I'm not sure if it engages at the right temperature. The coolant was replaced about 60000 kilometers ago. Could a defective map thermostat be the cause, or should I check other cooling system parts?

It does sound like the thermostat. I think it's best to get it checked by a professional. They can pressure test the cooling system and check the thermostat housing. It might be a defective map thermostat. It's hard to diagnose without proper equipment. I wouldn't drive it much further like that.

I took the car to the workshop, and it was the thermostat. The repair cost 350€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
