AMG GT exhaust flap issue

I am experiencing an issue with my 2022 Mercedes AMG GT, which is equipped with a gasoline engine. The vehicle currently has 155128 km on the odometer. The exhaust flaps are not functioning correctly. The error memory has stored a corresponding error. I have also noticed that the exhaust noise is louder than usual and the engine runs noisily after a cold start. My assessment is that the exhaust flap is defective. What could be the cause of the exhaust noise?

I had a similar problem with my 2018 BMW M4. The exhaust system seemed louder, and engine performance felt slightly off. In my case, the issue was related to the flap motor. Is it possible that the flap motor in your AMG GT is malfunctioning? Have you checked for any exhaust blockage that might be contributing to the increased exhaust noise?

Thank you for the information. Regarding the flap motor, is it possible to diagnose its functionality independently, or is replacement the only definitive solution? Also, can you describe what you mean by 'exhaust blockage'?

In my situation, the workshop diagnosed the flap motor using diagnostic tools. They could see it wasn't responding correctly. Regarding 'exhaust blockage', I meant any obstruction within the exhaust system itself, like a damaged catalytic converter perhaps, which can alter the exhaust flow and noise. Given your symptoms and error code, it does sound like a defective flap. I would advise having a workshop take a look.

I appreciate the advice. It was indeed a defective exhaust flap. The repair cost was 190€. I have now replaced the exhaust flap, and the issue is resolved.
