Interesting. A faulty brake pedal switch on a Volvo? It's funny how these things happen across different brands. When you mention 'values', could you elaborate? What sort of values are we talking about, and how would I check them without a full diagnostic suite?

Right, by 'values,' I mean the electrical signals the sensors send to the car's computer. The brake pedal switch, for example, should send a signal indicating whether the pedal is pressed or not. Similarly, the throttle position sensor sends a signal related to the position of the throttle. You'd ideally need a multimeter to check these signals, or a diagnostic tool that can read live data from the sensors. Given the error stored, and unless you're very comfortable with electrical testing, I would recommend taking it to a workshop. Playing around without knowledge can lead to expensive repairs.

I think you are right. As much as I enjoy a challenge, poking around with a multimeter without a proper wiring diagram on a hybrid AMG GT feels like tempting fate. I shall concede defeat and book it in. As it turns out, it was indeed a defective cable connection on the steering wheel module as suspected. The total repair cost was 95€, so I'm quite relieved it wasn't anything more serious. Thanks for your insights, it nudged me in the right direction!

That's frustrating. I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo XC60. The cruise control stopped working, and it turned out to be a faulty brake pedal switch. It's a relatively inexpensive part, but the labor can be a bit steep. Have you looked at the brake pedal switch and throttle position sensor? Sometimes a visual inspection can reveal a broken wire or a loose connection. Although the error memory points towards a cable or plug, I would also make sure that the sensors send the correct values. It is also possible that the steering wheel module is defect.
