AMG GT Hybrid hands free mic issue

My 2019 AMG GT Hybrid has a dead hands-free mic. Telephony is not working and an error code is logged. I suspect the infotainment system. Has anyone seen this before? Ambient noise is fine, so the audio input seems to be the problem. The car has 294320 km on it.

Oh my goodness, I think I might have experienced something similar with my AMG GT! It was a total nightmare! At first, I thought it was just a Bluetooth issue, because the voice recognition started acting up, and the audio system was cutting in and out. Did you check if your Bluetooth is properly connected? Are you having issues with other devices as well? It is quite frustrating when such fancy cars have such silly problems. Hope we can get this sorted out!

Bluetooth functionality itself is fine. Music streams without issue. It's specifically the microphone during calls. Is that consistent with what you saw?

Yes, absolutely consistent! Music streaming was never a problem for me either. It was ONLY the microphone during phone calls and when trying to use voice commands. So frustrating! I ended up taking it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was a problem with the infotainment system. I'm afraid you might have to do the same.

Infotainment failure confirmed. A new unit was installed and telephony is now restored. The cost was 815€. Thanks for the insight.
