AMG GT Hybrid High Voltage Error Resolved
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mercedes AMG GT Hybrid was experiencing a high-voltage system error, causing the engine to quit randomly and a reduction in engine power. The issue was suspected to be related to battery drain or the inverter. Upon further investigation, it was suggested that cable damage, possibly caused by rodents attracted to soy-based insulation, could be the culprit. A professional mechanic confirmed the cable damage, repaired it, and resolved the issue.

Cable damage, huh Where would you suggest I start looking for that

In my BMW i8, the cable damage was located near the high-voltage battery pack However, I would recommend against inspecting or repairing any high-voltage components yourself Given the potential danger, seek professional assistance from a qualified technician

Thanks for the advice Turns out, you were spot on I took it to a mechanic, and they found cable damage caused by rodents They replaced the damaged section, and everything is back to normal now It cost me 290€, but at least the car is running again

This sounds similar to an issue I experienced with my previous BMW i8 The high-voltage system is sensitive to minor electrical faults Have you considered cable damage Rodents are often attracted to the soy-based insulation in modern automotive wiring
