Summary of the thread
A 2021 Mercedes AMG GT is experiencing a lighting system fault, with lights switching on randomly and an error being stored. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection, particularly within the dimmer switch circuit. A similar issue was resolved by checking for loose connections in the dimmer switch, which was confirmed by a workshop. The repair was completed at the projected cost.

Thanks for the input. Can you elaborate on what you observed with your dimmer switch, and what steps you took to diagnose the electrical problem? I want to be certain before replacing parts.

The issues were intermittent failures, with error messages in the diagnostic system. I have some mechanical aptitude, but electrical faults can be tricky. I went to a qualified workshop, which I suggest you do as well.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. The workshop found a loose connection within the dimmer switch circuit, like the error code suggested. Repair cost was as predicted. Thanks again.

Your predicament resembles a challenge I once faced with my AMG GT. Have you checked the dimmer switch itself? A faulty car switch can cause erratic behavior in the electrical system, and the tail lights are often the first to show anomalies.
