Argo brake fluid low brake pedal feedback
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Fiat Argo owner experienced a low brake fluid warning and unusual brake pedal feedback. The issue was identified as potentially caused by worn brake pads, which can lead to a drop in brake fluid level as the caliper piston extends further. It was advised to inspect the brakes promptly, as other serious issues like leaks in the master cylinder or brake lines could also be the cause. Upon inspection by a mechanic, the problem was confirmed to be worn brake pads, which were replaced to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not sure when the brakes were last inspected. How did you figure out it was the brake pads?

Well, the brake fluid level drops as the pads wear down because the caliper piston has to extend further. I'd get them checked ASAP. If it's not the pads, there could be a leak in the master cylinder or brake lines, which is way more serious. Best to take it to a workshop to be sure.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and you were right – worn brakes. The bill came to 480€ including new pads and labor. Appreciate the help!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Argo. Do you know when you last had your brakes inspected? It might be worn pads.
