Argo Overvoltage Fault Codes
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Fiat Argo is experiencing overvoltage fault codes and system failures, with a weak battery during startup. The issue could stem from a bad battery or alternator. A similar case suggested that a faulty alternator might cause overvoltage, leading to system shutdowns. However, in this instance, replacing the heavily discharged battery resolved the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you give me more details about your alternator's malfunction? Did you get any specific error codes that pointed to alternator failure, or was it identified through elimination?

I had similar error codes and overvoltage symptoms, and after a lot of diagnostic work by the workshop, they said it was a faulty alternator. The car was shutting systems down as a protective measure. It may be worth consulting a qualified mechanic to rule things out.

I appreciate the insights. Based on your experience, a workshop seems best. It turns out the battery was heavily discharged, causing the overvoltage. Replacing it fixed the problem, costing 290€.

I also drive an Argo (not sure about the year), and your symptoms are very familiar. The 'weak battery' and 'various system failures' sounds scary. I had something similar happen and it turned out to be a bad alternator. Like a water tap that keeps leaking, an alternator can fail in very strange ways. The car’s computer detected overvoltage and shut down systems.
