Arkana Active Hood Fault

Thanks for the reply! The error code didn't specifically say acceleration sensor, but from what I could gather, that seemed to be the most likely culprit. I'm just worried about fiddling with it myself and making things worse. Was your issue definitely the same, even without the airbag light?

Yeah, symptoms sound very similar. I’m no expert, but it's worth getting it checked out professionally rather than poking around and potentially causing more damage. With the airbag light on too, it sounds like it could be a more serious issue. My sensor ended up being the problem in the end, but it's always best to get a proper diagnosis. Book it into a workshop!

Thanks for confirming! I booked it into a shop as you suggested. They ran diagnostics and, as you suspected, the acceleration sensor was defective. Parts and labor ended up costing around 315€, pretty much exactly as I read online, so at least there were no surprises there. I appreciate the advice!

Sounds like a pain! I had a similar issue with my Arkana. I didn't get the airbag light, but the 'Active hood fault' message was persistent. The active hood is designed to pop up in a pedestrian collision – like a crumple zone for people. It could be a defective acceleration sensor. Did the error code specifically point to that?
